A new online petition is pushing the city of Toronto to extend the sale of alcohol at venues around the city from 2 a.m. to 4 a.m. LastCallTO, the well-thought out website behind this petition, makes a clear call to action by pointing out that “to be a world class city, Toronto needs a word class nightlife”.
The site references Toronto as being Canada’s largest city, noting that we recently ranked the 4th largest city in North America, pulling ahead of Chicago to achieve this title. The unfortunate reality about this is that while large, booming cities like New York and Chicago enjoy a 4 a.m. last call (see the full chart below), we Torontonian’s are restricted to a 2 a.m. cut off most nights of the year.
