Could Deadmau5 Be Up Against Disney for Copyright Infringement?

It comes as no surprise that the logo of house mega-star, Deadmau5, bears a striking similarity to Disney’s time old Mickey Mouse logo. Coexisting for over seven years, there hasn’t been much speculation on the two mouse-inspired symbols. But what happens when Joel Zimmerman (of Deadmau5) applies to trademark his logo to appear on products like electronic equipment, BMX bikes, entertainment services and more? Well, it looks like we’re about to find out.

Although Zimmerman applied to trademark his logo a little over a year ago, Disney has only recently been granted a 90-day window to investigate whether or not the logo runs the risk of copyright infringement.

Not all Mickey logos are as detailed and clear cut as the image above either. Take a look at the Mickey silhouette below, which is displayed prominently on all Disney cruise ships worldwide. Starting to bear more of a similarity to the Deadmau5 logo? You tell us!
