As we say goodbye to Sound Academy, we say hello to Ink Entertainment’s new world-class entertainment venue, Rebel. On October 1st, Rebel the “successor” to the famous Government Complex will welcome the public for the official grand opening.
Yesterday the nightlife brand announced that they will be continuing the next generation of luxury entertainment venues in Toronto with the high anticipated opening of this new venue, Rebel.
The location for those not familiar with the old Sound Academy is 11 Polson St. and is adjoining with the famous Cabana Pool Bar. Rebel promises to establish a new industry standard for nightlife and music experiences in Toronto. “REBEL is a truly distinctive and transformative nightlife destination, offering guests access into the extraordinary, the unique and the unparalleled,” says Charles Khabouth, CEO of INK Entertainment. “We look forward to introducing a new luxurious entertainment space with unexpected and dramatic elements of intrigue and opulence that have yet to be seen in a nightclub setting in Canada.” The venue will merge customer service, design and state-of-the-art technology to form an unrivalled experience.
The extensive renovations have taken almost a year and are still not complete. The venue has opened periodically for events such as Caribana Toronto’s Sunday Blocko and VELD’s After Party. Rebel doubles as a state of the art live concert venue as well as a corporate event space, holding the ability to offer day to night functions in conjunction with the urban oasis, Cabana Pool Bar right next door. INK however promises much more beyond the already seen renovations by those who have attended the venue over the summer.
Rebel is a 45,000 square foot venue designed by Studio Munge. The venue overs 4 difference spaces, each offering a diverse setting and vibe, with the ability to house different music as well. The venue will house the very best in lighting effects and video production. Rebel has installed LED video was and grand terrace overlooking Lake Ontario with the very best views of the city skyline. The mezzanine hosts VIP booths that offer unobstructed views of the main stage. Black Mohawk, a Montreal-based production company will host the first 3 months of opening to assist with artistic direction and executions for the line up of special entertainment. Montreal is no stranger to elaborate nightclubs, with venues like New City Gas who has hosted world class DJ’s and performers.
