Hotline bling rapper was in the California area for the Coachella Music and Arts Festival. Not headline performing himself but he joined fellow rapper Future as a special guest at the event in Indio, California on Saturday April 15th, 2017.
While there the 6ix God visited The Madison Club, a golf, spa and country club that serves the surrounding private residential community, which is just two miles from where Coachella is being held. On Sunday, April 16th, 2017 Drake took to Instagram (now deleted) accusing the staff of “racial profiling” when deciding who and how they would treat their guests and members.
He wrote; “The most offensive place I have ever stayed at in my life with staff who pick and choose who they are going to accommodate based on racial profiling 🙌🏽 #Coachella”
The Madison Club was quick to stormily deny the accusation in the comments of his original Instagram post. They commented; “The Madison Club Inn completely refutes the notion that it is in any way, shape, or form a racist establishment,” their response read. “This is textbook character assassination.”
Drake fans were quickly on the case responding with fury to his accusation, posting severely critical reviews of the exclusive establishment on social media.
Despite Drake’s disappointing end to his trip to Coachella, he delighted fans performing Jumpman, Fake Love and Gyalchester along side Future.
